Epitaxial Material Innovation
The CSC is the World's first facility focused on application-led, early-stage compound semiconductor material development
Founded in 2015, the Compound Semiconductor Centre (CSC) is co-located with its parent company IQE, a leading supplier of advanced compound semiconductor wafer products.
CSC was established as a specialist provider of innovative epitaxial material technologies that underpin new photonic and micro-electronic applications, providing a complete capability from RD&I through to volume manufacturing.
With access to molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and volume metal organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) reactors, CSC is able to prototype new cs-technologies and de-risk epitaxial materials for volume production.
CSC has a particular focus on high-performance opto-electronic components for advanced telecom/datacom and sensing, wide bandgap semiconductors for RF and power electronics, and novel device structures for emerging applications, such as quantum technologies.
