Following the announcement of the Compound Semiconductors Applications Catapult earlier this year, Innovate UK is to invest up to £4 million in innovative projects that help to accelerate the use of compound semiconductors in areas such as power electronics, RF/microwave, photonics and sensors.
Proposals are sought that will kick-start collaboration between business and research organisations and that have substantial and scalable commercial potential. The aim of this competition is to ensure that businesses in the UK are equipped to respond to market opportunities in compound semiconductors and are prepared for the opening of the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult.
Projects should range in size from total costs of £50,000 to £500,000 and last between 6 and 15 months. The competition opens on 18 July 2016, registration closes at noon on 19 October 2016. Applications must be submitted before noon on 26 October 2016. More details at:
