The CSC is Europe’s home for product, services and skills development in compound semiconductor (cs) technologies and is a key element of CS Connected, the World’s first cluster on cs technologies and applications.
Compound semiconductors are behind an increasing number of high-end applications, including 3D and other optical sensing, wireless communications and power management. The cluster will work with technologists and end users across various sectors to develop new applications and drive down manufacturing costs.
CoInnovate’s focus on challenge-led innovation aligns well with CSC’s aims to ensure their roadmap is based on industry and market requirements. Wyn Meredith, Director of CSC said:
“The event continues to attract an A-list of major players in technology in the region and I look forward to hearing about new challenges and exploring how our resources and expertise may be applied to solving them.”
On 24th January, CoInnovate 2018 will bring together leaders in technology, business and government to discuss how regions can align capabilities more effectively to ensure that new technologies have better commercialisation prospects and challenges faced by industry and the wider society can be addressed through regional expertise.
“The profile of the event is growing beyond ‘just a conference’, I get the feeling it’s seeding a movement which is starting to define ‘our way of doing things’ in hi-tech in the region,” Meredith said.
The cluster has the potential to become a true success story for the whole of the UK and delegates are encouraged to join the evening session from 18:30 at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff to hear from regional leaders on the future of CS Connected.
